When you first meet her, Aliona comes off as a carefree childlike person. She is very immature and naive, and has delicate emotions. She does things obliviously, and is very kind and well mannered to others. She respects those 'older' than her and can take orders relatively well.

However, that side of Aliona is actually an act put up to seem like an innocent child. She is actually very intelligent and wise, with years of surviving an abusive father and living on the streets of Victorian era Russia under her belt. Once you become good friends with her you can see that she actually has a way of speaking that makes you want to agree with her.

Aliona is very patient, and knows how wait to get what she wants. She will use any information she's gathered to her advantage. As a 'child', many people don't think she can fully comprehend 'adult' situations. In this way, she overhears a lot of conversations. Unfortunately, she still does have the hormones of a 13 year old's body, and can be a bit emotional, in and out of her 'childish' state.

Background:
Aliona was born into a poor family. Her mother died in child birth, and her father became abusive from that point on. The only person who ever showed her kindness was her grandmother, who died when Aliona was only nine years old. If she did not sell enough matchsticks, she would be beat when she returned home by her father, which was unfortunately common. On the night of her death, she couldn't sell anything, and was very fearful of going home that night. She decided instead to stay out and try to get through the night, stowing herself in a crevice of two buildings.

Unfortunately, the cold was too much. Aliona lit a match to try and keep herself warm, but suddenly, the flames of the stick started to move, and create images. A grand Christmas tree was in front of her, towering at least six feet above her, and decorated from bottom to top. She wanted to stay there, that much was true. When the flames died out, it was only common sense to light another one. And another. At one point, she saw her grandmother within the flames. She desperately tried to keep her relative around by lighting all the rest of her matches.

The matches burnt out, and she was stuck in the cold. At this point, Aliona knew she was going to die, alone, in some dirty alleyway. And the worst part was no one would miss her. The only thing her father would miss was the little income she might be able to bring in.

She was so cold... her limbs became numb as she hugged them close to her body. And she was beginning to become sleepy. A nap wouldn't hurt, would it? When she woke up, she was back in her old shack of a house, her father shouting at her that she had to get up and go sell matches before leaving for work.

It was the beginning of the week of her death. Over and over again, she got to the final night, Christmas eve, died in the cold, and woke back up. It began to become a curse. She didn't even fear her father over this anymore. She came back to the house, but her father would kick her out.

She asked people for shelter, but they refused. Every single attempt at escaping death, and therefore the time loop, was thuarted. Aliona became depressed. At least a year has passed, but it was the same week, repeated. Aliona was running out of options. She was sitting in the alley way she usually died in, looking at her matches. She had brought a small knife with her from her father's drawer without him knowing. She was simply awaiting death, knowing it would come.

This time, when the cold consumed her body, she woke up in a warm place. "Heaven?" She asked herself. No, it was Fabula. Her world, her time loop, had been consumed by the new dimension. And she had finally escaped.
